After the re-establishment of Delphic in 1987, a female
counter-part was desired. A sorority affiliation was the norm throughout the
history of the fraternity.
The Delphic Dahlias were formed in 1988 to
promote and assist the fraternity in all its endeavors. In 1992 the auxiliary
earned its long desired Greek letter. They were then also known as the
Gamma Rubies
of Gamma Sigma Tau.
Since its creation, the auxiliary has participated
in fraternal fund-raisers, community services and social affairs, as well as
organizing their own.
Alumni sisters of the Delphic Dahlias/Gamma Rubies
are numbered at about 40 and are included in alumni functions of the
fraternity. The auxiliary existed only on the New Paltz campus and become inactive in 2005.
The auxiliary has become a valued part of the organization.
