The purpose of the Delphic fraternal organization of Gamma Sigma Tau is to instill its membership with the values of friendship, fellowship and fidelity by means of social interactions within the brotherhood and its community through various multicultural events, activities, and experiences. The goal of membership is to develop a strong camaraderie among the brotherhood and enhance personal concepts and experiences of accomplishment, loyalty, trust, confidence, and responsibility. Membership within the organization is eternal. The distinct backgrounds of the re-establishing Brothers of Delphic created the first multi-cultural fraternity at New Paltz. Before its re-establishment in 1987, fraternities on campus were either predominately white or black organizations. The Delphic Fraternity has always been one that does not base brotherhood on the surface of the skin, but on what is beneath it; in the heart and soul. |
